1. Introduction

This privacy policy describes how SuperShrimp ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our desktop application and website at supershrimp.io. SuperShrimp is operated under the jurisdiction of Singapore.

2. How the app works

SuperShrimp is a desktop application that monitors your sitting posture using your computer's webcam and on-device artificial intelligence. The app runs entirely locally on your computer. No webcam images, video frames, or visual data are ever transmitted over the internet, stored on our servers, or shared with any third party.

The AI model used for posture analysis is bundled with the application and runs locally on your device. No internet requests are made to analyze your posture. Your webcam feed is processed in real time and immediately discarded after analysis. We never see, access, or store any images from your camera.

3. Data we collect

3.1 Purchase data

When you purchase a license, we collect your name, email address, and payment information through our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store your credit card details. Stripe handles all payment processing in compliance with PCI-DSS standards.

3.2 License data

We store your license key, its activation status, and a device identifier (bound on first activation) to enforce our one-device-per-license policy. Each license grants access to one year of updates from the date of purchase.

3.3 Posture analytics data

If you opt in to sync your posture analytics, we store anonymized posture metrics such as time spent in good versus bad posture, posture scores over time, and experience points. This data consists of numerical values only and is not tied to your personal identity. It cannot be used to identify you.

3.4 Leaderboard data

The leaderboard displays a user-chosen username and experience points. Usernames are user-generated and do not need to correspond to your real name. No personal data (email, real name, device info, or payment details) is displayed or accessible through the leaderboard.

3.5 No webcam data

To be explicit: we do not collect, store, transmit, or have access to any images, video, or visual data from your webcam. All webcam processing happens locally on your device and is discarded immediately.

4. GDPR compliance

SuperShrimp is fully GDPR compliant. Since posture analysis runs entirely on-device with no data transmission, no personal visual data is processed by our servers. The anonymized posture analytics we store (numerical scores and XP) do not constitute personal data under GDPR as they cannot be used to identify an individual. You may request deletion of your account data at any time from our support page.

5. Data sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties. The only exception is Stripe, our payment processor, which receives the information necessary to process your purchase.

6. Cookies

Our website uses essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

7. Children's privacy

SuperShrimp is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app or website constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
